Dear Bloggers lol,

 

Life here in the promised land is great! The Lord is working miracles here. Most of these people have very little knowledge of who Christ is and why it is so important but as we read the words of the prophets in the Book of Mormon with them they feel the power of the words and there hearts and minds are converted. Its amazing in and of itself that people convert from Buddhism to Christianity because its just alot different. The Lord my God is by my side every day and i'm so grateful for all that everyone has done for me to help me to get here i know i wasnt always the best example of the believers but i want everyone to know that i know God lives and he is with us everyday as we live worthy of his spirit. I know Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of mankind and only through and in him will we be exalted.

 

I was reading Elder Packers talk on Cleansing the Inner Vessel and i love what he said, "we can not; we will not change our moral standards" just because a law gets passed or something doesnt make it right in the eyes of God. Those sins still have consequences whether or not society accepts it.

 

Well besides that this week has been pretty uneventful besides i ran into a pedestrian on my bike the other day but i'm not going to get into to much detail on that lol it was very embarassing and i feel really bad. Now that i think about it its pretty funny i just hope shes not to bruised up. .... (note from saige: i make this big because its so funny and i hope everyone will comment and tease him so i can tell him! lol )

Okay first of all i havent been gone that long lol i know who Justin Beiber is lol and plus Madi sent me a package of Justin Beiber trading cards lol
Things are going great here in Tainan! Except mom says i'm getting fat? :( lol no i have gained a little weight my pants are getting tighter i'm scared i might have to buy some new ones.
my message for the week is.......

As we are patience in our afflictions the Lord will bless us and our families to overcome any obstacle that we are faced with. Alma 26: 27 "...bear with patience thine afflictions, and i will give unto you success."

make it a point every morning to read the scriptures together and do family prayers morning and night i can promise you as a representative of Jesus Christ that your marriage will be stronger than it has ever been and this any obstacles to come will go away and as you continue to do it throughout your marriage you will be eternally happy together.

i do know is that  we in the church have the steps to overcome all trials. Faith, Repentance, Baptism(Sacrament), Holy Ghost and Endure to the End.

We had another baptism this last saturday Liang Qing Yu! It was really cool because we found him on an old Active Progress Record and just biked out there because we felt like it was good and it took about an hour and luckily he was home! It was all lead by the Lord crazy crazy! Anyway this week was really good not alot different happened just still doing the Lords work and loving it.

i'm over here getting so fat my pants are ripping lol nah i'm good just alot of gas from the food here i just am always bloated its kinda lame sauce head face!

Kelbys email this week

this week has been an amazing spiritual ride. We had an investigator Qiu Rong and we've been teaching him for almost 3 months and he just wouldnt get baptized we didnt really know why so we set a 01/12 goal with him. So he says okay and then saturday we have everything set up for 7 o clock and throughout the day he's still not sure and just wouldnt commit to it so we were getting nervous. WE prayed harder and showed more love to that kid than i've ever done before. The Lord worked miracles with him. Needless to say he was baptized on saturday night and confirmed yesterday the spirit was so strong i really love that kid he's going to be a great member of the church!  I'm staying in tainain for another transfer so wooot woot i love it here and we have another solid baptizm set up for this saturday! The Lord is working miracles

all updates!!!!

I am so sorry I havent posted anything in so long!!! Kelby has a new companion named Elder Durrant and he is in the city of Tainan. He is doing so well and loving every minute of his mission. here are some new pictures too!! Here are some recent words from him.

packers made it to the super bowl???? what the heckaloni? lol well tahts cool. I hope they win to i dont really like the steelers sorry mom haha.

I'm doing really good my new companion is really helping me to rely on the spirit and follow the promptings that i get and i can really see alot of blessings. The Lord has really blessed me with alot of revelation and inspiration to help others i just hope i am helping people come unto Christ i hope that i am a worthy representative of Christ!

this week was a great amazing full of miracles week!

 

The baptism on saturday was awesome and definitely somethingi 'll never forget. We needed to start the water at 6 for it to be full by 7:30. We were taking Huang bo han out to dinner for the baptism and we were on our way and we remembered we forgot to start the water so we booked it back and started it. So we go to dinner and then come back about 7 and there are members there and we go and see that the water level was only like shin high!!!!! The members tell us we forgot to put the plug stopper in!!! So the water was just draining the whole time! ahhhh so we go upstairs to start the meeting and we come back down to do the baptism and its still only knee high because when they put the plug in it was on its side so water was still draining! Disaster! So we go back upstairs and just sang like 6 songs and i bore my testimony and then we go back down at about 8:15 and its still only like a little over my knees. But we did it and he is baptised i had to dunk him twice because he's kinda tall and it was kinda hard but ya lol. One for the history books my first person i've ever baptized!!!

 

Mom it was amazing the spirit that was there especially yesterday when he was confirmed and know is a member of the church! I love this gospel so much and i hope i am doing what the Lord would have me do!!! I love it so ooo sos so smuch!

 

So henry finally came back so we have a ride to do our p-day stuff very fang bian (convenient).

 

I've been reading Jesus the Christ and it has really helped me to know Christ more and know what he did for me. He didnt have to do what he did he had a choice but God knew he would do it because he loves us! How much love he must have for us to do that for us to suffer everything that we've ever suffered! I know that God and Jesus Christ literally know who i am and know how to help me! I am so grateful for you and dad for raising me the way you did and helping me to grow my own personal testimony in Christ and in this church!

Thank you for raising such a wonderful young man..  Last night we had our first night of street contacting.  Elder Turk was great.  He quickly learned that he can be a bold missionary.  Without hesitation he talked with everyone he could to share the message of the gospel.  He will be a great blessing to the people of Taiwan.

We haven't heard a whole lot from Taiwan yet, but we know Kelby has had a part in two baptisms so far and another one scheduled for this week : ) he is very excited to be there.
